miRNAs EXPRESSION IN HEMATOLOGICAL DISEASES

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small endogenous RNAs that are negative regulators of gene expression. miRNAs act in diverse biological processes including hematopoiesis, suggesting their association with cancer. The present invention disclosed a signature/finger- print of miRNAs, which are differentially expressed in subjects with MDS in relation to healthy controls, for the diagnosis and/or prognosis of MDS. Moreover, the signature/finger- print of miRNAs disclosed herein is associated with specific subtypes of MDS allowing the identification of the stage or progression of the disease and it might be used to develop an adequate therapeutic response in different patients.
