The embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for establishing a communication link between a multi-mode RRU and a BBU, a multi-mode RRU and a BBU. The method for establishing a communication link between a multi-mode RRU and a BBU is characterized in that: the multi-mode RRU is configured with a multi-mode RE, the BBU comprises one or more RECs, and each REC supports a radio access technology. The method comprises: an RE obtaining, from one or more RECs, address information for establishing a communication link; and the RE sending a connection request to the one or more RECs according to the address information, so as to establish a communication link with the one or more RECs. In the embodiment of the present invention, since the multi-mode RE can establish a communication link with each REC by obtaining address information from each REC in the one or more RECs, the communication between multiple RECs of a single-mode BBU or RECs of different radio access technologies of a multi-mode BBU and the multi-mode RRU can be realized without formulating a complex application layer message specification between the multi-mode RRU and the BBU. |
