An image signal processing unit (2) in each liquid crystal display device (10) constituting a multi-image display system determines a write speed for an image signal on the basis of the number of the liquid crystal display devices (10) arranged in the direction orthogonal to a line in an image display device (3) in the multi-image display system. Further, the image signal processing unit (2) shifts the start time to write to the image display device (3) on the basis of the order of the host liquid crystal display device in the liquid crystal display devices (10) arranged in the direction orthogonal to the line, and displays the display image of the host device read from the image signal on the image display device (3) at the determined write speed.
