USAGE MONITORING FOR GROUPS OF DEVICES

Communication systems, such as an evolved packet system, may benefit from data usage monitoring. In particular, certain communication systems in which groups of related user equipment are deployed may benefit from a monitoring of groups of devices. A method according to certain embodiments can include determining that a group is connected to a plurality of gateway nodes, wherein the group comprises a plurality of user equipments. The method can also include monitoring data usage of user equipments of the group, based on the determination. Another method can include determining that an user equipment is associated with a group and selecting a common policy and charging rules function for user equipment based on the association with the group.
