Disclosed are a base station system and method for ring networking using a base station controller pool (BSC POOL), which relate to the technical field of wireless communications and can apply the BSC POOL to the ring networking without additionally adding an additional transmission device for a base transceiver station located in the middle location, thereby saving the use cost while improving the reliability of the base station system of ring networking architecture. The system of the present invention comprises: a head base transceiver station and a tail base transceiver station which are respectively connected to all the base station controllers in a BSC POOL; and a middle base transceiver station which is respectively connected to the head base transceiver station and the tail base transceiver station. The present invention is applied to a base station system for ring networking having a BSC POOL.
