The present invention relates to a vehicle rental service providing method capable of lending a rental vehicle to a user for a limited period of time using a mobile communication terminal and a system thereof. The vehicle rental service providing system using a mobile communication terminal includes a vehicle rental server which transmits an authentication key in which an expiry period is set to a mobile communication terminal requesting a vehicle rental service; and a vehicle control module which is installed in a vehicle to control the opening and the closing of the doors of the vehicle, receives and stores the authentication key from the vehicle rental server, performs short-range communication with the mobile communication terminal, performs first verification whether the authentication key received from the mobile communication terminal is expired, performs second verification whether the authentication key received from the mobile communication terminal and the stored authentication key are identical, and opens the door of the vehicle if the first and the second authentication are successful.
