Permanent fixing of dyes on a surface of buckskin leather based on polyamide/polyurethane (PU) and polyethersulfone/PU, comprises dyeing a buckskin leather in a known manner and functionalizing raw materials of a surface of the buckskin leather before and/or after dyeing. The functionalizing step is carried out using (a) aqueous solutions, dispersions or emulsions containing polyisocyanates having a molecular weight of 100-5000 g/mol or (b) aqueous solutions, dispersions or emulsions containing polyfunctional epoxides. Permanent fixing of dyes on a surface of buckskin leather based on polyamide/polyurethane (PU) and polyethersulfone/PU, comprises dyeing a buckskin leather in a known manner and functionalizing raw materials of a surface of the buckskin leather before and/or after dyeing. The functionalizing step is carried out using (a) aqueous solutions, dispersions or emulsions containing polyisocyanates having a molecular weight of 100-5000 g/mol, (b) aqueous solutions, dispersions or emulsions containing polyfunctional epoxides or (c) an aqueous solution, dispersion or emulsion containing a mixture of polyisocyanates and polyfunctional epoxides or using acid dyes, metal complex dyes, reactive dyes, disperse dyes or mixtures of cationic functionalizing agent consisting of triazines, polyaziridines, polyethyleneimines, polyacrylamides, polyvinyl amines, polyamines, polyvinyl compounds with N-heterocycles, polyallylamine, and polyallyl with N-heterocycles.
