The ultrasonic sensor (10) has an element (20) on which an electrically conductive polymer layer (22) is partially arranged. The polymer layer is used for producing electrical measuring signals. The element is made of poly ethylenedioxy thiopen or glass fiber reinforced plastic. An amplifier circuit (25) is located on the element, and a spacer (23) is secured over the element. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing the ultrasonic sensor.
