The seat has a massage device (1) for massaging a spine of occupants and designed as a part of a backrest with a set of massage elements (2c). The massage elements are arranged on sides of a spinal column support region (W) of the backrest. The massage elements are coupled with a slidingly guided pushrod (3a) over a steering wheel (3b) such that a shift of the massage elements in a transverse direction (Y) on the support region or away from the transverse direction and/or a longitudinal direction (Z) is produced along a longitudinal extension of the backrest by displacement of the pushrod.
