The controller has a fork-shaped drive lever (3A) that is pivoted with fork legs (3B) on a control shaft (4) rotationally fixed with an adjusting plate (5). The switch-off of the control shaft at interconnected engagement surface (6,7) is enabled for variable actuation of valves (1). A roller (8) is engaged on two journals of a cam (9) and is rotatably mounted with a push rod (11). The adjusting plate is arranged between two rod portions (12) of the push rod and engaged with a pulley (15) on axis (14) on which two bucket tappets (2) engaging a pulley (16) are arranged.
