The slat ring (32) has a gearing portion (44) that is formed on the inner periphery (42) of an annular disc-shaped base portion (38). The wave maximum portions (56a-56e) and wave minimum portions (58a-58e) are formed in the circumferential direction (46) of the base portion. The number of wave minimum portion and the wave maximum portion is greater than 6 and smaller than 20. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing slat ring.
