<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional article in which chitosan is simply applied and stuck even to a hydrophobic substance (synthetic polymer) and which has high antimicrobial activity, hydrophilicity, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The chitosan-coated functional article is obtained by immersing a polyolefin fiber, woven fabric or nonwoven fabric being the hydrophobic substance in a solution of amphoteric or anionic partially acylated chitosan which is partially acylated with a 8-18C long-chain fatty acid or its acid anhydride and drying the fiber, or the like, so as to coat and stick it with the chitosan. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
