The circuit (20) has a coolant pump (21) driven by a drive motor (24) for circulating a coolant, and power electronics (26) for powering the drive motor from a motor-drive battery (25). Heat exchangers (22, 23) exchange heat from the coolant to the environment. The coolant pump and the heat exchangers are arranged in a branch, and the drive motor, the battery and power electronics are arranged in another branch. The branches are connected through a coolant switching device (30) such that the coolant flow circulated by the coolant pump is reversible in the latter branch. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a heating and cooling circuit.
