The method involves generating an electric energy in a land network during the feed-in, and heating up a liquid tank provided onboard by the power-thermal-coupling. The heat exchangers are provided for supplying the introduced thermal energy to the land network for the peak load coverage or idle power. A closed cooling circuit is provided with the heat exchanger and is permanently switched on. An oil heater is replaced by a power-heat coupling with the combustion engine.
