The electronic circuit has a differentiator (12) which is formed to differentiate an input signal (20) fed to an input terminal (8) or a signal derived from the input terminal into a differentiated signal (23). An output comparator (13) is provided for converting the differentiated signal into an output signal (24) outputted at an output terminal (9). The input terminal and the output terminal are differential terminals. The differentiator differentiates the sub-signals of the input signal. The differentiator is a high-pass filter and contains a capacitor as a series element. An independent claim is included for a method for galvanic separation of an input terminal from an output terminal.
