The deck chair and/or armchair (3) has a movable seat back (15) continuously adjustable between a relatively vertical end position i.e. seat position, and a relatively horizontal end position i.e. couch position. The seat back is displaceable toward a seat surface-side end during displacement into the couch position and toward a seat surface-far end during displacement into the seat position by using forced controllers e.g. flap (16), lateral axle (17) and link slots (18, 19). A seat surface (14) is liftable during displacement of the seat back toward the couch position in an upward direction.
