The present invention provides a lithium secondary battery that is good in load properties, charge-discharge cycle properties, and storage properties, even when being charged at a battery voltage to be over 4.25 V. The lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a non-aqueous electrolyte liquid, and a separator and is subjected to a constant-current constant-voltage charge with a stop voltage more than 4.25 V before use. The lithium secondary battery uses the non-aqueous electrolyte liquid containing 0.1 to 5 mass % of a phosphonoacetate-based compound represented by general formula (1) and containing 0.1 to 5 mass % of 1,3-dioxane. In the general formula (1), each of R1, R2, and R3 is an independent hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 12 substituted or non-substituted with a halogen atom, and n is an integer of 0 to 6. |
