<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that appropriately exposes the face of an object by flash irradiation, and reduces the risk of failure in photography, and to provide an electronic camera system. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided: an image pickup device for photoelectrically converting an object image by a photography optical system to generate an image signal; a division photometry section for dividing a photography screen into a plurality of photometry regions to detect a luminance value in each photometry region; a face region detection section for detecting the face region of the object within the photography screen based on the image signal; a flash luminescence section capable of changing the irradiation angle and direction of a flash applied to the object in photographing; and a luminescence control section for controlling the irradiation angle and direction of the flash luminescence section based on the luminance value of the face region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
