A method for separating a mixture comprising dialkyl carbonate, water, and alkanol comprises: introducing a reactant stream (412) comprising dialkyl carbonate, water and alkanol to a first divided wall distillation column (200); separating the mixture with use of the divided wall distillation column (200); and recovering a product stream (426) comprising dialkyl carbonate.
