摘要 <p>Optical sensor for sensing a liquid 5, comprising a sensor head 10 comprising one or more optical cavities, including a first optical cavity 12 arranged such that a liquid to be sensed may contact a boundary of the first optical cavity. The sensor further comprises an optical source 22 which delivers probe light to the one or more optical cavities; a detector 24 which receives the probe light from the one or more optical cavities and detects interference in the probe light caused by the first optical cavity; and an analyser 26 which generates an indication of a sensed liquid based on a strength of the detected interference caused by the first optical cavity. The one or more optical cavities may include one or more further optical cavities and the detector may detect separate interference in the probe light caused by each of the further optical cavities. One of the further optical cavities may be a pressure sensing cavity where the analyser may generate an indication of pressure from the effect of changes in optical path difference of the pressure sensing cavity. At least one of the optical cavities may be a temperature sensing optical cavity in the sensor head.</p>
