The machining center has an edging unit (3) for feeding and applying an edge strip (2) to the narrow side (1a) of the work piece (1). The edging unit and the work piece are movable relative each other in two spatial directions parallel to a work piece plane. The edging unit is pivotally mounted on a bearing section (4) around an axis parallel to the two spatial directions.
