<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for automatically selecting a wireless communications network, by user equipment that use steered PLMN. <P>SOLUTION: The method for selecting the wireless communications network by the user equipment includes the acts of: storing, in a memory, a home network ID, a user-controlled list of prioritized roaming network IDs, an operator-controlled list of the prioritized roaming network IDs, and a steered network ID which is not a part of the user-controlled list and the operator-controlled list of the prioritized roaming network IDs and has priority over the operator-controlled list of the prioritized roaming network IDs. In an automatic network selection procedure for the user equipment, attempting to select and operate with a wireless communications network with the use of a steered network ID for user communication which has priority over the operator-controlled list of the prioritized roaming network IDs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
