<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately grasp a calorie consumption by taking the condition of energy metabolism in a body into account. <P>SOLUTION: The system for monitoring metabolic rate has: a mounting type device with a body movement sensor, a temperature sensor and a pulse wave sensor; living condition judgment knowledge data including living condition judgment condition data; a database storing calorie consumption computation knowledge data including a calorie consumption computation algorithm for every metabolic condition, a detection signal of the mounting type device; a living activity judgment section which judges living activity conditions on the basis of the living condition judgment knowledge data; a metabolic condition judgment section which detects the continuous condition of activities from the signal of the mounting type device and judges the metabolic condition of every living activity condition when the activities are in a continuous condition, and judges that metabolism is in an acceleration condition when the activities are not continuous; a calorie consumption computation section which computes a calorie consumption by changing the calorie consumption computation algorithm in accordance with a metabolic condition; and an output section which outputs calorie consumption. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
