<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device, capable of performing stable coordinate input independently from the reflection distribution characteristic of an indicating object. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of light sources 31-3n is set in different positions to illuminate the inside of an input area 1. Illuminating lights from the plurality of light sources 31-3n are reflected by a light reflector 5, and the light intensity distribution thereof on the light reflector 5 is imaged by imaging devices 4a and 4b. A coordinate arithmetic means 7 computes a shadow position on the light reflector 5 of the instructing object present within the input area 1 based on the light intensity distribution obtained by the imaging devices 4a and 4b, and computes two-dimensional position coordinates of the instructing object based on the determined shadow position and the light source position at the time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
