The format part (12) has a strand guiding or strand forming scraper part (13) and a strand forming or strand guiding formed part (14). The cross section of both the scraper part and the formed part changes on the side facing the fiber material in the longitudinal direction and in the conveying direction of the strand-like fiber material. The change in cross section of the scraper part runs linearly. The change in cross section of the scraper part runs continuously from the front edge of the scraper part to the rear edge of the scraper part. Both the scraper part and the formed part is provided with a semi spherical coating on the side facing the strand.
