Building joint with sealing tape

The sealing tape (1) has a foam body (2) made of a foam material restored after compression, where the two opposite broad sides (3a,3b) of the foam body are provided for sealing engagement. A restoration blocking element (5) is arranged on a narrow side (4a,4b) of the foam body, which interacts with the foam body to prevent the complete restoration of the narrow side area. The foam body has a non-rectangular cross section in a completely relaxed state due to the restoration blocking. The blocking element is formed by a coating material on the narrow side of the foam body.
