<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam irradiation apparatus capable of performing the excellent lap welding when a worker performs the manual operation in a standing posture. <P>SOLUTION: A worker presses a laser head 2 to apply the load and holds a workpiece 50 via a spring 14 and claws 6a, 6b. As the laser head 2 is pressed, the spring 14 is deformed to the position where an adequate holding force is obtained. The deformation is detected by a detection unit and laser beams 8 are output from the laser head 2 to perform the welding. In addition, when the spring 14 is deformed to the deformation quantity, the positional relationship of components is determined so that the focal position of the laser beams 8 is matched with a part 50c to be machined. The laser beams are focused to the part 50c to be machined without observing the part 50c, and any gap between members is eliminated by holding the workpiece 50 without any damage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
