<p>A starter equipped with an over-torque absorption device is provided to maintain slipping torque created between fixed disks and rotating disks by pressing the disks uniformly with spring members. A starter includes an electric motor, an output shaft having a pinion which is interlocked with a ring gear of the internal combustion engine, planetary reduction gears, an over-torque absorption device(4) and other components. The over-torque absorption device has a layered body where fixed disks(49) and rotating disks(50) are layered in an alternating fashion, pressing plates(51) and spring members(52). The layered body is contained in a cylindrical case(48). Both fixed disks and rotating disks are ring shape objects.</p> |
