A light emitting device and a display device are provided to minimize brightness decrease of the display device by decreasing a distance between a second substrate and a diffusion plate. A light emitting device includes a vacuum container, an electron emitting unit(16), a light emitting unit(18), and an irregular reflection layer(34). The vacuum container includes first and second substrates and a sealing member. The electron emitting unit is arranged on the first substrate to face the second substrate and includes driving electrodes and electron emitters. The light emitting unit is arranged on the second substrate to face the first substrate and includes a fluorescent layer and an anode electrode, which is arranged on one surface of the fluorescent layer. The irregular reflection layer is arranged on an outer surface of the second substrate and corresponds to a non-light emitting region of the light emitting unit.
