<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data compressing device, an image data compressing method, and program, for quickly recording JPEG data. <P>SOLUTION: The image data compressing device comprises a RAW compression processing part 57 for detecting high frequency component of image data, a JPEG parameter setting part 56 for calculating characteristic data (entropy) representing appearance frequency distribution of high frequency components, a JPEG parameter setting part 56 which calculates, based on the characteristic data, the coding amount predicted when an image data is compressed based on a first quantifying table, a JPEG parameter setting part 56 which calculates a second quantifying table for acquiring a target coding amount to be finally obtained at the RAW compression processing part 57, based on the target coding amount and predicted coding amount, and a JPEG processing part 53 for JPEG compression process based on the second quantifying table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
