The purpose of the present invention is to simplify a circuit for performing the filter processing in a display device. A signal processing circuit, which is used in the display device having a pixel to which any one display color of RGBW is allocated and supplies a gray scale signal that defines a gray scale for displaying the display color of each pixel, comprises a conversion unit which extracts a extraction signal that defines the gray scale to be displayed in the predetermined number of pixels including any pixel for each RGBW from an image signal that defines the gray scale to be displayed in the pixel for each RGBW; a memory unit which memorizes the predetermined number of coefficients for each RGBW; a first selection unit which selects, from the extraction signal, a single color extraction signal that defines the gray scale to be displayed in a block for the display color of any pixel; a second selection unit which acquires the predetermined number of coefficients corresponding to the display color of any pixel; and a calculation unit which generates the gray scale signal based on the outputs of the first selection unit and the second selection unit.
