A system and a method for managing user data are provided to enable the second user to confirm the management state of user data containing user's own information in case the first user manages the user data. A system for managing user data comprises a user data DB(5) and an XDMS(XML-based Document Management System) server(3). The user data DB stores user data. In case an update request for user data is received from the first user, the XDMS server extracts the information of the second user from the user data. Then the XDMS server notifies the second user that the user data will be updated. In case a user data update authentication function has been set for the user data, the XDMS server confirms whether the second user allows the first user to update the user data. If the second user rejects the update of the user data, the XDMS server stops updating the user data. |
