<p>The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for managing a schedule in a mobile terminal. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for managing a schedule in a device having a touch screen includes the steps of: detecting a first user gesture from the touch screen; if the first user gesture is a gesture to request for displaying a keypad, deciding whether to set a calendar as a background of the keypad; if the calendar is set as the background of the keypad, displaying the calendar on the touch screen and displaying the keypad thereon; detecting a second user gesture from the touch screen; and, if the second user gesture is a gesture to request for the calendar excluding the keypad, displaying the calendar except for the keypad.
