The present invention relates to a device and method for preventing loss of umbrella, wherein the device includes a main transceiving part which is mounted on a mobile terminal and sends and receives a signal to and from a transceiver mounted on an umbrella, an auxiliary transceiving part which is mounted on an umbrella and sends and receives a signal to and from the main transceiver mounted on the mobile terminal, a computing part which the distance between the umbrella and the mobile terminal based on a signal which is transceived by the main transceiving part and the auxiliary transceiving part, and a voice support part which allows the mobile terminal to generate a voice when the distance between the umbrella and the mobile terminal is longer than a designated distance.
