<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform acceleration shock reduction in such a mode compatibly establishing acceleration shock reduction effect and acceleration response at high level when a transmission system is in a non-rigid connection state. <P>SOLUTION: During acceleration by increase of an accelerator opening APO, engine torque Te is raised by control with the usage of requirement torque Tdri, and an engine speed Ne is largely raised rapidly and acceleration shock is increased when an engagement stroke of an engagement/disengagement element in a transmission system in the non-rigid connection state is narrowed. At that time, t3 when the torque transmission characteristic of the engagement/disengagement element is rapidly changed by engagement is detected, and an engine torque command value eTe is maintained to be limited torque Telim smaller than Tdri during such a period. Thus, the engine speed Ne is gently raised when the stroke is narrowed, and the acceleration shock can be reduced.
