<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that reduces costs and coherence between a plurality of light beams to reduce speckle noise, an image display device, and a monitor device. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device includes a plurality of light emission elements 11a to 11e; a resonant mirror that functions as a resonator for causing light beams emitted from the plurality of light emission elements to be selectively reflected toward the plurality of light emission elements; a wavelength selecting element 14 for allowing transmission of light beams with a certain wavelength band among the light beams emitted from the plurality of light emission elements 11a to 11e, the wavelength selecting element allowing a narrower wavelength band of transmitted light than the wavelength band of the light beams reflected by the resonant mirror 15; and state changing means 16a, 16b for changing the states of a plurality of light selection areas A to E of the wavelength selecting element 14.
