<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game system capable of improving game properties of a game machine and a portable terminal unit, the game machine and the portable terminal unit. <P>SOLUTION: The game system 1 includes the game machine 2 and the portable terminal unit 3 to obtain prescribed information from the game machine 2. The game machine 2 includes game machine side output means for outputting game result information according to the result of the play in the game machine 2, game machine side obtaining means for obtaining information from the portable terminal unit 3, and presentation changing means for changing the presentation according to the information obtained by the game machine side obtaining means. The portable terminal unit 3 includes terminal unit side obtaining means for obtaining game result information from the game machine 2, setting means for setting prescribed application in such a way as executable based on the game result information, and terminal unit side output means for outputting execution result information related to the result of execution of the application.
