A new chauffeur service system based on a smartphone and a method for operating the same are disclosed, which is capable of improving work efficiency or chauffeur service matching efficiency by directly connecting a smartphone for a chauffeur service user and a terminal for a chauffeur service provider. For this reason, a chauffeur service system based on a smartphone is provided comprising: a smartphone for a user who has an application installed thereto and receives a chauffeur service request through the application; a smartphone for a chauffeur who has an application for chauffeur installed thereto and receives a chauffeur service request by running the application for the chauffeur; and a control server which collects information transmitted from the smartphone for the user and the smartphone for the chauffeur to determine matching between a user and a chauffeur. According to the present invention, the chauffeur service system can reduce the fixed costs of operating a call center and promotional expenses in order to increase the profits of the service providers and chauffeurs and can transfer part of cost savings to the customers in order to provide them with economic benefits.
