摘要 The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof, capable of improving image quality by reducing brightness variations between the top and the bottom of a liquid crystal panel. The present invention comprises a liquid crystal panel which includes an active region in which multiple gate lines and multiple data lines intersect with each other, wherein the active region is divided into multiple active regions; a gate driver which successively supplies scan pulses to the active regions and supplies the scan pulses within the active region to odd-numbered gate lines and even-numbered gate lines in order; a data driver which supplies a data voltage with first polarity to the data lines by being synchronized with the scan pulses supplied to the odd-numbered gate lines and supplies a data voltage with second polarity to the data lines by being synchronized with the scan pulses supplied to the even-numbered gate lines; a common voltage generation unit which generates a common voltage to have the opposite polarity from the polarity of the data voltage supplied to the data lines from the data driver and supplies the common voltage to a common electrode of the liquid crystal panel; and a timing control unit which arranges and supplies inputted image data to the data driver and controls the gate driver and the data driver.
