The invention relates to a jawed valve for the outlet of pressurized pipes within hydrotechnical installations, employed in the bottom discharge of dams, as a closing/opening or control device. According to the invention, the jawed valve comprises a casing (1) of variable cross-section which is circle-shaped in the upstream end terminated by a flange (2), with a sealing gasket (3) along its geometrical outline, and two jaws (5) having the role of mobile shutters intended to take over the hydrostatic force and to transmit it to the body of the casing (1) by means of the two pairs of buttons (4), the drive being provided by two hydraulic cylinders (6) which push or pull the jaws (5) using a mechanism with levers and crank and connecting rod assembly, thereby ensuring the valve opening as well as the valve closing, in this case the jaws (5) exerting the pressure against each other, the tightness being maintained by some sealing gaskets (8) for the "closed" position.
|
