[Problem] To provide an optical pickup device having high dust resistance, and an optical disc device provided with the same. [Solution] This optical pickup device is provided with the following: a penetration part (55) that penetrates a housing (12) in the thickness direction; and an opening part (58) in which a cover (56) is opened at a position that overlaps the penetration part (55). Thus, a penetration region (42) that penetrates the optical pickup device is formed by the opening part (58) and the penetration part (55). As a result, an airflow containing dust passes through mainly the penetration region (42); therefore, a large amount of dust does not flow into the interior of the optical pickup device, and exceptional deterioration caused by dust is inhibited.
