The present invention is provided with: a transmission device (20) provided with a carrier (C1) having an engine rotational shaft (11) connected thereto; a differential device (30) having a plurality of rotational elements individually connected to a ring gear (R1) of the transmission device (20), an MG1 rotational shaft (12), an MG2 rotational shaft (13), and drive wheels (W); a transmission adjustment device (40) which is capable of controlling the transmission device (20) such that the transmission device (20) enters either a neutral state in which power cannot be transmitted between the carrier (C1) and the ring gear (R1), or a state in which power can be transmitted between the carrier (C1) and the ring gear (R1); and a HVECU (90) which has a first step in which, in cases when an engine (ENG) is started during EV travel, the transmission device (20) in a neutral state is controlled so as to be in the state in which power can be transmitted between the carrier (C1) and the ring gear (R1), a second step in which the rotational frequency of a first rotary electric machine (MG1) is increased, and a third step in which starting of the engine (ENG) is controlled such that the rotational frequency of the engine (ENG) is increased in accordance with the increase of the rotational frequency of the first rotary electric machine (MG1). |
