The wind generator (1) comprises a rotor (2) with a vertical axis of rotation (2a), sails (4) for setting the rotor in rotation under the effect of the wind, and a plurality of bearing arms (5) which are distributed about the periphery of the rotor, which are inclined upwards and towards the outside of the rotor (2), and which at their base (50) are articulated for rotation in a vertical plane with respect to the rotor. The sails (4) are borne by the bearing arms (5). More particularly, each sail (4) connects and is borne by two adjacent bearing arms (5). Each bearing arm (5) is able to pivot individually in a vertical plane over a limited angular range.
