<p>An optical connector has an adapter (2) that holds an optical fiber (11), a plug (3) that holds an optical fiber (21) to be connected optically to the optical fiber (11) and that engages with the adapter (2), and a light-blocking member (110) that is near the emission end of the optical fiber (11) of the adapter (2) and that, when the adapter (2) and the plug (3) are not engaged, is provided at a position for blocking irradiation light. When the adapter (2) and the plug (3) are engaged, the light-blocking member (110) is pushed by the plug (3), and is thereby folded and retracts into a gap. The light-blocking member (110) has a light-absorbing member (112) that receives and absorbs irradiation light and generates heat, a thermal diffusion member (113) that diffuses and dissipates the heat generated by the light-absorbing member (112), and a shutter substrate (120) that supports the light-absorbing member (112) and the thermal diffusion member (113).</p> |
