摘要 The present invention reduces an optical distortion in an image of a photographic object. Image stabilization, whereby the center of an imaging component is shifted from the optical axis of an imaging lens in the radial direction, is carried out several times within one frame. A trajectory of the movements of the center of the imaging component during the image stabilization as viewed from the front is generated. A changing point, at which a directional change has occurred from a positive direction to a negative direction or in the other way around either in the vertical direction or in the horizontal direction, in the generated trajectory is detected. The positional relation between the shifted center position of the imaging component and the optical axis of the imaging lens is ascertained from the detected changing point. An optical distortion in the image of a photographic object is corrected by utilizing said positional relation. Even when the imaging component is significantly shifted due to significant image stabilization carried out within one frame, because an optical distortion can be corrected with consideration for the shift amount, the optical distortion can be reduced.
