<p>The present invention relates to a centrifuge pod (11) which comprises a body (12) intended to accept products for treatment and a pivot-mounted lid (15) for sealing the contents of the pod. A rotary catch (19) mounted on the lid locks the lid to the body of said pod. A return element (32) such as a spring mounted in the hinge keeps said lid open at an oblique angle when the catch is not locked. In this way, an operator will immediately notice that a lid is not locked. In addition, if he attempts to close the lid of the centrifuge, the lid of the open pod will strike the lid of the centrifuge, preventing it from closing.
