Provided are a processing device and method for the hot plug of a SIM card and a mobile terminal. The device comprises: a detector configured to detect a SIM card hot plug event which is triggered by means of a physical operation; a converter configured to convert the detected SIM card hot plug event into a corresponding electrical signal; and a central processing unit (CPU) configured to process SIM card hot plug according to the electrical signal after the conversion. The present invention solves the problem existing in the prior art that a method for realizing SIM card hot plug using a specific card slot brings limitation on the shape and structural design of a user terminal, thus achieving the effect of realizing SIM card hot plug in combination with any card slot.
