The vehicle (1) has a body shell (2) defining a passenger compartment (3) with a rear reception space (6) for a rear passenger (7). A rear boot (12) is arranged behind the reception space. A boot shutter (14) forms a boot access opening while being articulated with respect to the body shell between a closed position and an opened position. A boot shutter articulation (15) is located directly above the reception space. A passenger protection shell (22) is fixed to the body shell, overhangs the space under the shutter near the articulation and remains fixed in open position of the shutter.
