The tool (10) has a piercing unit (12) extending in a penetration direction (D1) and having an end intended to pierce a lip seal i.e. SPI seal in the penetration direction. A holding unit (17) includes an abutment surface (27) extending in a direction perpendicular to the penetration direction, where the holding unit is bound by the piercing unit, and is movable between a penetration position and an extraction position, corresponding to two various positions of the abutment surface of the holding unit relative to the piercing unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for extracting a seal with a tool.
