The present invention relates to an antibacterial composition containing a phlorotannin compound derived from Eisenia bicyclis as an active ingredient, which is selected among 7-phloroeckol, fucofuroeckol-A, deoxynodehydroeckol, or a mixture thereof. The compounds of the present invention exhibit antibacterial activity on antibiotic resistant bacteria, and create a synergy effect when being alternately used with beta-lactam based antibiotics such as ampicillin, penicillin, oxacillin, and the like by recovering antibacterial activities of the beta-lactam antibiotics on MRSA. Accordingly, the antibacterial composition of the present invention can be used in a composition for the prevention or treatment of diseases due to pathogenic microorganism infection, a composition for feed, an additive for feed, foods, a food additive, drinks, a cosmetic composition, a cosmetic additive, and a detergent. |
